Before you reach out
Do you supply or manufacture the joinery?
No. Sondira is a design and coordination practice. We produce the drawings and specifications; a cabinet maker of your choosing — or one we can suggest — does the fabrication and installation.
Can I commission just one piece rather than a full set?
Yes. The Joinery Brief and Detail Sketch service is built for single-piece commissions — a wardrobe, a built-in desk, a display shelf. There is no requirement to commission the whole home at once.
How long does the brief-and-sketch process take?
An on-site visit and sketch note is typically ready within five to seven working days of the initial site visit. Full documentation packages take two to three weeks depending on the number of pieces and complexity.
Do you only work in Kuala Lumpur?
Most work is within the Klang Valley — KL, Petaling Jaya, Ampang, Puchong. Projects in other areas of Malaysia are considered on a case-by-case basis; travel costs would apply.
What information helps you understand a project quickly?
A rough description of the space, the piece you have in mind, any reference images you find useful, and a general sense of your material preferences — solid timber, veneer, lacquered board — are a good start. Nothing formal is needed at enquiry stage.
How is payment structured?
A 50% deposit is required to begin work. The balance is due upon delivery of the sketch or documentation package. For liaison and site-walk engagements, the full fee is payable before the first site visit.
